As the court assuredly expected, my time with this collection of ne’er-do-wells has run its unfortunate course. I am one who has learned from my time seeding the battlefields of this land with my blood, that a reckless course is for the foolhardy.
This group makes up for their lack in tactics with tongues set on creating misfortune. Having seen myself in such a light when younger and greener, without a firm hand and the seat to accompany such, this is a death march I cannot bring to task.
They may well survive and I have left a young acolyte to help keep them to task. I will assume their impetuous nature may bring the kingdom good fortune, or it may put them in shallow graves spread across distant battlefields. They are collectively as special as they are daft.
When next we meet I will be with the army I am gathering on my way to Slave Harbor. I ask the gods not to call me to task should your band of miscreants fail though I know that’s a tall ask.
At your service.

Ford: Your Grace, they eschewed my wise counsel and destroyed some red and black dragon eggs that I hoped to save and hatch and turn to the light while adventuring.
Rupert: *blink* I see. GUARD!
Guard: Yes sire?
Rupert: Can you send my special guards in here? You know, the ones with the special jacket?
Guard: *looks toward Ford with alarm* Special guards. Yes your highness. Right away your highness.February 22, 2024 at 8:30 pm - Views: 131 #734Tippy Smallfoot (Greg)KeymasterLord Ford,
Malus has kept me apprised of the situation and of your unfortunate departure from the group. Despite your misgivings about your ability to take back the city you were able to do so. In addition it seems they continue to make progress in ridding the land of both Drow and the Tiamat’s foul plague on the land. And yet, you have departed over the destruction of dragon eggs. I suspect your judgment of their ability and tactics may have been in error.
I had hoped that with Malus’ council you would take this opportunity to become the leader of this group of heroes. I am still quite young, as you are fond of pointing out, but I have learned that the ability to lead powerful men does not come by appointment. It must be earned. I had hoped that this would be the case.
Despite my disappointment, I respect you as a warrior and leading an army seems to be your calling. You have always been and continue to be an important asset to the kingdom and we are better off with you in its service.
Fare thee well my friend and should the resources be available, I will gladly assist in the taking of Slave Harbor.
