Week 13 – Crazy Old Wizards and The Buelstafer Garden District

An apparition appears. An old human wizard. He speaks:

“You believe yourselves grand. Of high ability, stature, station. And you may be, you’ve made it so far.

“This tells you may be resourceful, but also doesn’t preclude you from evil. Though I care little of your evil or to what nature you ascribe. Many believe me to harbor evil intent. Many may be true. But all evil pales to demon evil. And if you align with such, these trinkets are best left where they lay. Take your bounty and remove yourself from my chamber. The items will not work in your hands without the chalice of Veil’s Whisper, and that will not be retrievable by any that treat with demons.
Now if you truly believe you are without the callings of demons, you may enter my house. It stands in the Buelstaffer garden district. When I left this evil moved in. None know what he is, but he is. Not the upstanding, more the deceiver.”

In the satchel pocket, there is a map on the lining. Easy to miss. In the bottom, you’ll find what he hasn’t. The Chalice of Veil’s Whisper.

The party finds some information, leading them to the current house of Morgan Halstorm, the house that used to belong to the wizard Mahsra, the wizard the party searches for. But few remember him.

Surveying the house, Tippy enters to find Morgan engaged with the staff. He looks the part of a diplomat.

That night they scale the fence and catch sight of odd looking guards, moving like demons about the roof and property.
