The party travels back to Lokistan, escorting 16 year old Crystle Aryn, second child of 3 and second daughter to Eamon and Saraphina Aryn.

Stormshield intercepts the group, telling them they were to report for debriefing on the red-eyed beasts and they would escort the girl. The party stands their ground and it is agreed the Stormshied will send a representative with them to House Aryn.

At the house of Aryn, word is quickly arriving about the largest temple of Pelor in Estrawlia (a week’s ride to the west, still on the Kraymorden side of The Chasm) attacked the night before. The attack was arcane, lightning and fire, horrid wilting, the work of dog wizards. It happened while a contingent of Red Suns of Pelor were meeting with the high clerics of Pelor. The church collapsed in a minute. None survived.

Present are the Aryn’s, a bard, and then Shade shows up with the details of what happened in Estrawlia. Six wizards accounted for the destruction. In response, there is talk of the Red Suns dispatching Mage Hunters.

Shade also tells of word from the taverns, where Sephyrs sing of Hawksden, a small town 6 hours ride from the gate took an attack from a host of beasts. The Sephyr present spread his alarm across the land. He sang of the heroic defenders that fell quickly beneath the crush of red-eyed throng making their way east. Then his song fell short.

The party returns to the front where Stormshield resides in their newly constructed tent city, but not before patronizing a Lokistan tavern called the Hog’s Breath, Hogs to the locals. There Zorander introduces the bar to Kaiden, the god of beer, and a somber celebration takes place among the turmoil.

The festivities are short-lived and the party returns to the Stormshield tent city where they are breaking down and heading east to meet the throng. They travel for a day and early the next morning they are awoke before dawn to meet the beasts.

The party is chosen as the phalanx, the center of their line to break a thick host of goblins, orc and ogre. With them are 3 Stormshield fighters and a Red Sun cleric. The swarm surrounds them, axes and swords crash, Zor and the Red Sun heal the party to keep them upright.

The line breaks and the beasts retreat. The party partially recognizes that these beasts were not as connected as the ones fought at Jo’har’s Keep. The beasts did not get stronger as the beasts around them fell. The Red Sun does not celebrate the victory with the party.

Scouts report the enemy has retreated some miles and has begun to reform. Stormshield holds firm as their army heals, reporting more Red Suns are traveling to join their ranks.

Shade finds the party, camped at the outskirts of the tents. He tells them the Handaris Mage Council has been attacked and disbanded. In an unexpected assault, Mage Hunters slashed their way through many of them, leaving them dead or on the road. Shade leaves them with a caution of trust regarding Stormshield, who heads to this camp, as he will not stand up for Kraymordens against the Red Suns. His focus set only on defeating the throng at any cost.
A Stormshield lieutenant comes to the camp of the party, informing them they’ll be marching again at first light. However, the human known as Beck is to report to the Red Suns, as they will not fight alongside any of the arcane nature.

“It’s not my own politics as I’ve known many a good soul who used. But not my choice, sirs. Now say your farwells, as we’ll be setting course for the front at the hour of the crow.”

    “The hour of the crow?”

“Yes, the hour of the crow. When the crow is up and alive.”

“Aren’t crows alive all of the time?”

“We’re leaving in two hours, dammit.”

Bah. I’m not too proud to say I’ve been duped, lads.

While we had some ales at Hog Farts, a few fellas chatted me up about our new armor and some other weapons. Seemed friendly and on the same side.

Once we left the big tent, they offered to share a few ales again before we headed into battle. Seemed like good folk.

Their section was closer to the woods and we sat and had some dammed good ales.
Afterward, I realized they was waiting for me to take a piss in the woods, but instead they went in there and made like something’ was attacking.
As I stepped in they tried to jump me and take my gear. Nope. Not on my watch.
I knocked the hell out of those lickspittles and left em half beat to death.
As I cleaned my gauntlets off with their shirts, I see some beedy red eyes staring and looking a bit scared.
Goblins. Didn’t know how many, I jus’ started after em. Most went down with one or two hits and the others broke rank and couldn’t figure out how to fight. Heh heh.
Goblins think they’re quick. They’d run and I’d chase em.
Kept finding a couple more. They seemed to still be scouting instead of planning to come up and flank us, but I got most of em to stop thinking and planning, since their brains didn’t work no more. Heh heh.

Anyhoo. By the time I figured they were cleared out, I was bloodied and bloodied some more and had a few miles to trek back.
Sorry I missed the fun with you guys. Would’ve rather you were with me and could kept going and flanked their whole damn army. Heh heh.

We missed you, but they gave us half a dozen of those red twinkle people who almost made up for your absence, Cryl. They fought okay and followed orders, but we’d have rather had you.
