Right now Ru can be king, but he can’t play king. Too much shit still swirling the swamp and kings shouldn’t be up to their arse in swamps.
Make this magistrate the hand of the king. He’ll be happy and it’s what he wants. The rest of us go finish what we started as it can’t be done without Ru. Granted, some of what we have to do is likely fend off those not falling in love with their new king, but we can suffer a couple errands of taking out the trash and burying it in what’s left of the swamp.
Maybe while we’re out there, we can be deplomic too.

I feel much more comfortable slogging around in the swamp or in some dungeon looking for undead and such than I do sitting in a meeting of why Jeremy Lasky deserves the rights to half of farmer Banisters land because his dog once peed there. I mean really, it seems like most of these folks just been waiting for someone they could bitch to. The magistrate is welcome to it while we hunt down whomever is causing Malus difficulty.

There is also zero chance that I will not go to rescue my lady fair. I do appreciate the help of any of you who are willing to risk an encounter with the infamous Mortifera and her powerful, undead bodyguard. I believe the drow are an existential threat and that Mortifera is the vanguard of their encroachment on our recovering civilization. All human, dwarven and elfish kind will suffer from their predations. I think that stopping Mortifera in her tracks will blunt, and perhaps even break their incursion.
I am working with Megan to learn everything I can from any of the dead who will talk. Once we know where she choses to meet, we can focus our efforts within the community to that area and determine if the druid still lives. Whether or not she does, we still must use this opportunity to take the war to Mortifera. Her security has always been her constant movement, but for this one moment, we’ll know where she is.

Sire if I may,
I would advise your Highness that the unfortune demon attack on last night’s event be handled with all due haste. Although few of us are aware of the true nature off the attack, the citizens believe it was an attack on them and are frightened. A frightened populous is dangerous and can begin to believe in false narratives.
On the subject of the Baroness, she may be upset but will almost certainly be pragmatic. Her claim to the throne is remote and would have few if any real supporters that weren’t out to use her as a pawn. I would said your Highness should consider a union with the Baroness. Such a union would add much leverage to your Kingship.
The Earl may have no real claim to the throne but he does have money and a small amount of power. He does have the resources to raise and army or hire assassins. A union between the Baroness and Earl could cause unneeded concern for the throne.
I would urge you to make the trip the Storyside as soon as the immediate threat is resolved. It will solidify your authority to show the ring and scepter. Some of the new dealings should be handled by the King himself to avoid any misunderstanding caused by over eager lackeys.May 24, 2022 at 8:53 pm - Views: 187 #456Hocho Militus (Tom)KeymasterI am no expert on politics, but I’m learning quickly. Royal marriages are always used to form or strengthen alliances, and I think marrying the Duchess is probably going to be more fun than marrying the Earl. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, and Lords know that Fate doesn’t judge unless you’re trying to avoid it. Most of us get the be husbands and fathers first, and then tailors or carpenters or necromancers second. Not so for you, your Grace. Your first duty is to those who look to you to provide a safe and prosperous world for them to raise their families. It is a terrible burden, but less so if you don’t struggle against it.

But we know you better than he knows you, and you know your own mind best of all. So another admonition to continue to remember that advisors advise. They aren’t called deciders for a reason, your Grace.
