Story Arc: We set off to find the Satyr that we wanted to tempt Danus the nymph to give up Alex. Tannus’ directions were true, and in our second day of camp, drinking libations to tempt the Satyr, he got Rupert alone to find out what we were about. Rupert, in his usual straight-man routine, told him the truth with no attempt at misdirection. What we’ve learned in our travels this far is that these legendary creatures are a lot more intelligent and pragmatic than we assume they’ll be.

After some discussion and some liquid lubrication, Zilk agreed to venture forth with us to meet Danus. He didn’t get stars in his eyes, but just rationalized that the prize was worth the inconvenience. We headed West and found Alex in a glade alone. As we were trying to talk Alex into asking Danus to come talk to us, Gorock and Ford decided to walk away to avoid complicating our efforts. Danus intercepted them and charmed them both, intending to trade Ford for Alex.

She came back to the glade with Ford and Gorock as back-up, but didn’t try to charm us. Once she finally met Zilk, she agreed to take him instead of Ford. Alex came along without a fuss, but we had to keep an eye on Ford who kept trying to sneak back to Danus. Zilk intimated to us that he would probably stay with Danus until he got her pregnant and then he was back in the fey nightclub circuit rotation.

Alex’ mother was thrilled to see him back, as were the other villagers. They had nothing of value to give us, although Mrs. Kendelshire offered us her life savings of 21GP, which we refused. Instead, they feasted us, which was a better memory than a bit of cash I must say.

We went to visit the retiring Father Joe of Pelor, who was planning to retire there in Riverdown as soon as his replacement arrived. He’d served there 60 years. We asked him about the elves that were fished from the river three years hence. He did not know who was leaving flowers at the graves of the elves.

We went down to the graves. There were flowers there, but they were old ones and whithered. Someone (Oswald?) suggested that I use my ability to talk to the dead to see if any of the elves had something to say. I can talk to any of them if we have a common language, but I can’t compel them to speak if they don’t want to. One answered, informing us that they were part of a great battle against the Drow, and they were killed and then carried off by the river, defending the fey that lived in this part of the forest. We asked him who left the flowers and he informed us it was the pixies.

So why were drow killing fey, and why were elves protecting them? Were the elves simply protecting their forest? I never met an elf, at least not until Malus. He seems real nice and helpful towards others. Not at all like Father described them…

We did ask why they were defending that spot and this fey, and why the Drow were there to kill them in that spot.
All answers led to this just being part of the forest and they were just denizens if the forest. The elves were protecting them for only that reason.
I’m up for a walk to go check out that area. Not sure we can find anything the drow didn’t, but maybe the drow were thwarted and the fey know of something.

The part of the Silverwind Forest that the slain elves were protecting and the fey that lived therein were the places and people we’ve been traveling and speaking to for the past few days. The druid, the brownie, the spiders, the satyr and the nymph were all in that area. The SW Forest is vast, but we wandered a pretty good chunk of the southern expanse of it.

Maybe the Drow did it just cause they are evil and they like to kill things. I think the re-cap is spot on. Thanks Malus.
