– NoneStory Arc: After recovering, we went back to the cave where we had slain the displacer beast. Not far beyond the entrance, but past the nest of the beast, we found a hastily-constructed wall of stones that appeared to have been recently built as a reaction to our initial assault.
Not far beyond the obstacle were were set upon by a carrion crawler, then a troglodyte druid, a troglodyte champion, a variety of ordinary troglodyte combatants, and a single giant lizard. Immediately, Rupert tumbled past the carrion crawler in an attempt to recreate his former glory and to get advantage over the beast, which prompted the trog champion to assault him.
Displacer Beast
Soon thereafter, a giant lizard joined in and grabbed Rupert, who was on the edge of losing consciousness. The creature failed to resist a fear spell, dropping Rupert and running off. Anders landed a monster blow on the Troglodyte champion, slaying it, and thus turning the tide of the battle.
Quickly, the Troglodyte druid got in trouble and fled, and the rank-and-file Troglodytes were slain quickly. We searched the caverns, but didn’t find the druid or any other enemies.

September 27, 2021 at 4:12 pm - Views: 200 #338Krex (John)ParticipantI believe it was Gorock who claimed the breastplate. Seems a waste to hide that shiney metal armor behind that seaweed he calls a beard.
September 27, 2021 at 6:13 pm - Views: 197 #339Tippy Smallfoot (Greg)KeymasterI would like to point out that if not for Malus you would all be without the wonderful company of Rupert for the remainder of this campaign. I will never forget you saving my life and I hope I will never have to repay the favor but should you ever be in need, I will not let anything keep me from said repayment.
I’m learning a few things along the way. Tumbling is cool and can be of great value but it does make sense to know what you are tumbling into before doing so. Yikes!
September 27, 2021 at 8:30 pm - Views: 193 #340Hocho Militus (Tom)KeymasterYou’re very welcome Rupert. It is my role to keep you topside, so my deeds are nothing more than should be expected. However, it quickly becomes apparent that there are often several options that seem viable, and a test of which option is most profitable for the well-being of our group. I have and will continue to bias my decisions in favor of keeping my brothers alive, but I am not tempted to get puffed up about it. Sooner or later, I’ll make a bad decision and someone else will pay for it. I pray to the fathers that day never comes, but all I hear is distant laughter.

I can still feel them crawling around me.
Not my proudest moment in battle, as I couldn’t hit them for anything. Very frustrating, and I’ll continue to hone my fighting abilities in small spaces to help the group out better.
The only thing worse than being ineffective is watching your mates suffer and not being of any use to them.October 5, 2021 at 4:40 pm - Views: 182 #345Hocho Militus (Tom)KeymasterSorry Oswald, I’m not a great battle commentator, so I try to make sure I catch the extraordinary stuff. Your fighting skills have been reliably not bad.
October 5, 2021 at 4:42 pm - Views: 186 #346Hocho Militus (Tom)KeymasterAnyone have the GP per player and GP to party treasure? I know it was complicated.
October 6, 2021 at 12:38 am - Views: 181 #349Cryl (Dan)ParticipantLooks like 30 GP each and 1 GP for the party.
