Rowan is a simple, young man, yet never considered a simpleton for sure.
Though his family resides in the small township of Kallinford, his preference is to camp on the outskirts and enjoy nature, hunting, and fishing. His simple life style doesn’t call for much; he hunts, brings his trophies to town, and gets new supplies. This is a weekly routine that brings him into town each week.
Of course he has to bring his mum the best catch of the week. This helps his family and satisfies her demand to get eyes on him at least once a week. She wasn’t excited when he started living in the woods, and is still expecting him to outgrow this little phase of his. Typical mum.
The timing of this week’s visit seems to align with a funeral and celebration of life for one of the nobles. He didn’t know Hallendar, but appreciated the opportunity to meet up with some friends.
Rowan stopped by his mum’s, dropped of a few fat rabbits (which were already field dressed and clean as required), promised he is eating well and getting enough sleep, and then headed into town. He thought about leaving his knapsack and bow at her house, but they feel like a part of him now, so he kept them strap as he does when moving through the woods.
Should be a good night, but this decision will also give him a chance to slide back into the woods if things get boring. Mum would press him to spend the night at home if he had to swing by and grab his things later.
